Sometimes i trip out on the things people say. Its crazy how judgments get passed and assumption get made. Without a doubt I've been a artist since I was very small, whether it was visual or performing I've always made use of what I had infront of me. To those who have met me in recent times im jus "tattoo mann" lol & I jus draw, make people laugh & cruise the lowriders (as im constantly told), but those who have known me for many years know that before the art on paper took off big i was heavy into performing with graffit, drumming and flatland bmx.
Man oh man times have changed, i remember in middle school & highschool being a bit of a outcast because i cared more about my bike more than girls, cars, partying & etc. It was crazy having to explain what i did to people and then get that wtf? stare lol. I would draw all day in class at and practice 4-5 hrs daily on my bike in the neighborhood tennis court. The more problems I had the more I rode my bike, nothin else existed. I remember getting clowned and even having fights with dudes because i wasnt like them, wasnt into big name brands & because in New Orleans in the 90's BMX and Skateboarding weren't the in thing, especially for black males...... the greatest and saddest thing now that i think is in 2012 the same guys who used to down me and wut i did or how i dressed all dress like that now and all pose with skateboards & etc for facebook pics & because now stars like Lupe Fiasco, Currency & Lil Wayne make it exceptable to do. They even pay me to tattoo them lol smh, man mom was so right when i was younger, "what goes around comes around". Now its called "swag" but for me and the hundreds I've met, sessioned with, made money with, traveled with or maybe jus inspired,, we call it a LIFESTYLE. my story in life will always in 1 way or the other have a bike in it, i think even wen im too old or too broken up (whichever happens 1st) i'll still jus pedal around or sit and stare at 1. And to jus jus think those 2 wheels, alot of determination & crazy imagination took me places i never imagined and allowed me a chance to meet some of the greatest people ever.. lifes a trip
